Sounds different…

This was on Panguni Uttiram day.

Near the chariot-parking-place of Kapali temple, I noticed a few gypsies. Narikuravas ….young kids….wish I had a camera….they looked so charming….

These kids were running around, looking for odds and ends that were lying scattered here and there. And were whooping and shouting their discoveries to each other.

The language was so distinct…the sounds of the language were quite unlike any that one would expect to hear in Chennai….”Guru-google” says that the language is called Vaagri Booli, and is an Indo-Aryan dialect….

Narikurvan – or jackal hunters – also known as kuruvi-kara or bird people……wanderers…gypsies….so, so Indian….so earthy….so natural….

The language set me to wonder….

Time has so many secrets….India has so much magic….
